A Lifetime of Service.

A Voice for Rural South Dakota

Nick is a lifelong South Dakotan who has spent more than 26 years serving rural communities through healthcare and local leadership. He believes strong communities are built on common sense, personal responsibility, and neighbors looking out for one another.

Practical Leadership. Strong Communities. South Dakota Values.

Meet Nick

Nick grew up in the small southeastern South Dakota town of Tripp alongside his two brothers. He was raised by parents from Wall and Philip, whose own story began while working at Wall Drug. That foundation of family, faith, and hard work shaped the values he carries today.

Nick married his high school sweetheart, Jenny, at just 19 years old. Together, they built a life rooted in commitment, service, and community. After graduating college in Aberdeen, they began their careers in healthcare.

At 21, Nick took on his first role as a nursing home administrator in northwest Iowa, while Jenny worked in a hospital lab. Not long after, they returned home to South Dakota, settling in Pierre in 2004. There, Jenny worked in forensics with the Division of Criminal Investigation, and Nick served in human resources and administration at St. Mary’s Hospital.

In 2012, they made the move to Britton, where they have lived for more than a decade. Together, they raised four children, three now college graduates and one finishing high school.
